Changes to Kanopy

There has been a change to our access to Kanopy. You are now required to create an account with Kanopy before you can view a video. You will need to login with your Kanopy account before viewing any video on the Kanopy service, including videos embedded in Canvas. This change was necessary in order for us to continue providing this service. Thank you for your patience. If you encounter any issues, please contact Lori Cassidy, Instructional Design Librarian.

New Database for Business: IBISWorld

The OCC Library has started an online subscription to IBISWorld. IBISWorld is a wonderful collection of market research and information about industries. If you are doing a project requiring you to pull up information about an industry or starting your own business, this is the place to start! This information is put together by IBISWorld's  analysts and is not available for free on the Web. Current OCC students and staff can access IBISWorld through the library's Periodicals and Electronic Resources page with their campus login. Please contact Lori Cassidy if you have any questions.

Faculty OER Adoption Opportunities

Hello OCC Faculty,

We have several exciting opportunities to share with you about textbook affordability and OER! We have saved students over $750,000 through our grants so far and we want that number to grow. We have been hard at work getting funding to continue our textbook affordability efforts and I’m happy to announce that funding is now available! We have three opportunities to announce:
  1. Faculty may receive a maximum of $1000 per course to support activities necessary for adopting an OER textbook in place of a traditional textbook. Once funding runs out, this will no longer be available.
  2. The Library can provide you with a desk copy of your OER textbook, as well as a copy to go on library reserve. Funded by the Friends of the Library
  3. The Library may be able to buy an ebook copy of your textbook for students to use. Availability is limited to what we can purchase - only some textbooks will be available. Funded by the Friends of the Library
For more information, visit our OER Professional Development and Funding Opportunities page or contact Lori Cassidy, OER Grants Project Coordinator & Instructional Design Librarian.
