When: Tuesday, October 28 at 7pm
Where: OCC Library
Admission: $5 or a gently used book; FREE for OCC students & FOTL members
Speaker: Mick Donoff
Before he retired, Mick was a teacher and coach at Mission Viejo High School. He also taught part-time at OCC, leading skiing, hiking and backpacking field trips, often accompanied by his wife, Sharon. At age 40, he began his involvement in "ultra" sports – running and biking in 100-mile and multi-day events across the United States and Canada. On April 6, just three days after his birthday, he put the front tire of his bike in the Pacific Ocean in Laguna Beach, his hometown, and started riding across America. Final destination: St. Augustine, Fla., and the Atlantic Ocean. "It has been a journey of a lifetime," Mick said. During the Oct. 28 program, he will share a brief overview of his experiences, what he has learned, and talk about Stand Up 2 Cancer.
Admission to the FOTL program is free for FOTL members and OCC students, who can pick up credit slips if they attend the presentation. All others are asked to donate $5 or a gently used book. All proceeds benefit the OCC Library.
