Library Tips: Accessing LexisNexis From Home
You can access LexisNexis (or any other database) from any computer by going to our Periodicals and Electronic Resources page. Click the link for LexisNexis. It will then ask you for your ID and last name. Your ID is your student ID with a dash in the middle (example: 1234-5678). For the last name, just enter your last name only. Capitalization does not matter. If you are having problems, go to our instructions for more information.

Fall Book Sale 10/23
Our annual Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale is just around the corner! You can buy great books at great prices! The sale is on Tuesday, October 23rd. The hours are 9 - 10 am for Friends of the Library members and 10 am - 3 pm for everyone. A variety of books will be available from bestsellers, romance, and mysteries to science, art, history and computers. Most books sell for $1.00. The sale will culminate with a "dollar-a-bag" sale from 2 - 3 pm. Anyone may join the Friends of the Library prior to the book sale to take advantage of the one hour "pre-sale" exclusive for Friends members. The sale will be held in front of the library. Wild & Scenic Film Festival 5/30/12 at 7pm
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is coming to OCC for the first time! Considered the largest film festival of its kind, Wild & Scenic combines stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation. Festival-goers can expect to see award winning films about nature, community activism, and outdoor adventure. The films instill a deep appreciation and a sense of wonder for the natural world that surrounds and supports us.

Banff Film Festival Tonight!
The Banff Film Festival is tonight at 7pm in the Robert B. Moore Theatre. Advance tickets are on sale at the OCC Bursar’s Office for $10 ($5 for current OCC students). Tickets will be available at the door for $12. Save $2 on door admission by bringing two or more books, DVDs or CDs per person to donate on the night of the show! Show your donation receipt at the ticket window to claim discount (does not apply to student $5 tickets).

The library will be closed for Spring Break from March 26th - April 1st. We will reopen on April 2nd at 8am. You can turn in books and other library materials at our book drops (one is by the library entrance and the other is in Lot E). Our online databases and ebooks will be available during the break.

Off campus access to the library databases is back up. Please use the normal method of logging in (student ID and last name). If you received passwords when our system was down, please note that those passwords will expire soon and you will need to use your login information instead.

New Library Databases
The library has several new databases for your research needs! Through a generous state program, we acquired a large package of databases from Ebsco, including Academic Search Premier, Medline, MasterFile Premier and much more. The library was also able to acquire three collections from JSTOR, three new databases from Gale (Informe, World History in Context and US History in Context) and over 4000 new ebooks from Springer.

The library will be holding workshops starting March 7th. These 60 minute extra-credit workshops, held in the library's lecture room, will teach library and information research skills using print and electronic resources. They will also introduce the library's services and resources. Extra credit slips will be available if requested by your teacher.
