Do you like: outdoor adventure? Sports and activities that make your adrenaline surge? Short films?

If so, you will enjoy watching the Banff Film Festival.  Tickets are available online for two exciting programs until October 24, 2022.

The Friends of the Library will earn a percentage of ticket revenues through the URL linked above. Please choose individual programs for $15 each or the two-program bundle for $28. Each individual program has a 3-day rental period, and the bundle has a 14-day period.

We hope that you enjoy this Banff Film Festival experience online! Also, we are planning to host a two-night live screening on campus this fall. The film selections for the upcoming live event will be completely different from the films available online, so there is no overlap.
Thank you for supporting our Friends of the Library and the Banff World Tour at OCC!!!

The library provides workshops for students to learn how to do library and information research.

The goal or mission of these workshops is based on the ultimate goal or mission of Information Literacy, which is that students learn library and information research skills that make them independent and life-long learners. Extra credit will be available if requested by your teacher.

Curious about what is covered in the workshops? During a workshop a librarian will cover:

  • introduction to the library's services and resources
  • identify and access the various library and information resources
  • identify scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals
  • search discipline-specific and advanced electronic resources
  • conducting research on the web
  • evaluate search results for credible resources
