Voices of the Golden West

Time : Tuesday, March 1, at 7:00 p.m.

Location : OCC Library Lecture Room

Donation : $5 at the door or donation of gently used book; Free for OCC students and FOTL members.

Join editor Sylvia Worden and her guest writers as they share their experiences included in "Voices of the Golden West," a collection of 89 true stories collected for the California Stories Initiative. The project was funded by a California Council on the Humanities grant sponsored by the Golden West College Foundation.

Books will be available for purchase by Lido Village Books. Refreshments will be served. Extra credit vouchers will be available. For general information, call (714) 432-0202 x21058. Proceeds will benefit the OCC Friends of the Library.

Can I check out a copy of my textbook?
Maybe. The library purchases many textbooks. Textbooks and course reserves are available at the Circulation Desk. These items are for in-library use only. An OCC student photo ID is required to check out reserve items. You must know the call number of the item you want to check out. Reserves are restricted to current OCC students and faculty only. For more information, please check our Policy page.

How do I log in to the lab computers? How do I get wireless access?
Every student has a default login for lab computers and wireless access. Both use the same login. Your username is your student ID number (no C or -). Your password is the first initial of your first name in CAPS, the first initial of your last name in lowercase, and your date of birth in this format: MMDDYY. For example, if your name is John Doe and you were born January 2, 1982, your password would be Jd010282.

Only OCC students, faculty and staff may use the lab computers in the library or access the wireless. If you are having technical issues with the wireless, go to the IT department's wireless page.

Where can I study in the library?
The library offers a variety of places for students to study in the library, including open areas, lounge areas, and individual carrels, as well as group study rooms, and a large open study area. The quietest areas are on the second floor. Group discussion should take place in either the group study rooms or the open study room. Friends of the Library Book Drive

The OCC FOTL is conducting a year-end book drive to restock the shelves of the FOTL store, located in the lobby of OCC’s library. The used books are sold and funds support library operations throughout the year. Books can be dropped off at the FOTL store during regular library hours. Donors can request tax receipts at the library Reference Desk.

Winter Break Closure

The library will be closed for Winter Break from December 18th - January 30th. You can return library materials in the book drops located in parking lot E and next to the library entrance. Fines can be paid at the Bursar's office.
