Extended Chat Hours During Finals

 As we near the end of the semester, the Chat with a Librarian service will have extended hours beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 8th.  If you have a late night research question, reach out by clicking the chat icon on the bottom right of any OCC Library webpage.

Wed. 12/8:  8am - Midnight
Thurs. 12/9: 8am - Midnight
Fri. 12/10: 8am - 3pm
Sat. 12/11: 10am - 3pm
Sun. 12/12: CLOSED
Mon. 12/13: 8am - Midnight
Tues. 12/14: 8am - Midnight
Wed. 12/15: 8am - Midnight 
Thurs. 12/16: 8am - 9pm
Fri. 12/17: 8am - 3pm 

The Library building will continue to be open Mondays - Wednesdays 10am - 6pm during finals. 

PLEASE NOTE:  

The library building and chat services will be closed for the winter break beginning Saturday, December 18th.  Chat services will be available for intersession starting January 3, 2022.  The library building will be closed during intersession.  

All our electronic resources (ebooks, journals, magazines, newspapers, films, and more!) will be available throughout the winter break and intersession!!

NEW! Feature Films for Education


 The Library is now offering Feature Films for Education

This collection includes hundreds of Hollywood films that can be used for instruction or just for fun. There are wide range of titles from a range of genres: action, comedies, fantasy, animation, documentaries, and more.

To access the database, go to the Databases A - Z list, then click on F in the alpha list OR use the Database Type dropdown and select Multimedia.

Only a Few Library Workshops Remaining in Fall

There are few more library workshops remaining this fall.  Curious about what is covered in the workshops? During a workshop a librarian will cover: 

  • introduction to the library's services and resources
  • identify and access the various library and information resources
  • identify scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals
  • search discipline-specific and advanced electronic resources
  • conducting research on the web
  • evaluate search results for credible resources 
  • cite their sources in either MLA or APA styles 
  • understand how the proper use and citation of library and information resources helps avoid plagiarism
  • and, any questions you may have!
