Kelli Lewis, education director at the Pacific Marine Mammal Rescue group, will give a presentation about the organization and its work. Established in 1971, Pacific Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit organization with a mission to rescue, medically treat, and rehabilitate marine mammals that become stranded along the Orange County coastline due to injury or illness; to release healthy marine mammals back to their natural habitat while preserving species diversity; and to increase public awareness of the marine environment through education and research. One of the issues they have faced this year was rescuing and rehabilitating over 350 starving sea lion pups!

For general information, call (714) 432-0202 x21058. Books will be available for purchase by Lido Village Books. Extra credit slips will be provided. All proceeds benefit the OCC Friends of the Library.
